Air quality testing
Spore counts for each room you care about, compared to the air outside, so you know whether what you smell is a problem and where it is coming from.
How it works
A calibrated pump pulls a measured volume of air through a cassette for a set number of minutes. We always run one outside first as the control. Indoors, each room gets its own cassette. The lab counts and identifies the spores on each one; the report compares every room to the outdoor baseline.
A room that reads higher than outside, or shows types that are not in the outdoor air, has a source. The moisture readings and photos from the inspection usually say where.
When to ask for it
- A musty smell with nothing visible.
- Allergy or asthma symptoms that ease when you leave the house.
- After a leak or flood that has been dried, to confirm nothing is growing behind the wall.
- Before buying, or before signing a lease, when the seller or landlord says it is fine.
- After a remediation, as the clearance test that proves the job is done.
Pricing
Air sampling is part of the base mold test ($400 for two samples). Each additional room is $75. Results in 48 hours; next business day for $100.
